The garden, the Tent, the Golden Box.
The Tabernacle, The Temple.

All the places the Lord God made
for His home were pillaged and ravaged
and invaded by the evil gods
His people preferred.

The people the Lord made to be His
children judged Him and accused Him
of not 'being with them.'
The nation of people He created was
crushed by the gods they chose.

The people were not capable of giving
their own Creator a permanent place
in the earth He made for them,
nor would they welcome Him
when He wanted to
come down and be with us.
And God was merciful.

So God made a way to come down
and make His own place in the midst of us,
He came down . . . as one of us.

God had One who would give Him a place
on earth. Only One who would welcome Him
to walk with, talk with . . . and love.

So God's Son - His Only Son - was born
into this place, into one human body,
a vulnerable, common human form.
He reduced His life,
confined His freedom,
left His glory and became . . .
a simple baby.

At last God could
come down and be with us.
And God was rejoicing!

Behold, the virgin shall be with child
and shall bear a Son,
and they shall call His name
Immanuel,
which translated means,
"God with us."
Matt. 1:23
