In them He has pitched a tent for the sun,     
Which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,
and like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
Its rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other.

The sun is the radiant center of our
little sphere of the universe.

The blazing, fiery sun is the source of all that lives.
And all that lives, lives only at the behest of the sun.
Light is essential-life to all that lives.   

But for the sun, the "great light,"
all would be darkness, therefore . . . dead.
All people, all plants, all living and even unliving things
would die without the sun.

This life-giving sun spews in fire
from which pour light and energy
but the sun is also a magnet, drawing and keeping
its followers on their course and in their line.
Safe and moving.
   
It is a signal, a beacon in the heavens,
showing the centrality and power of
the Sun of Righteousness.
(Mal. 4:2)

Zacharias, filled with the Holy Spirit at the birth
of John, declared the Coming Sun . . .

"Because of the tender mercy and         
loving kindness of our God   
a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit us."
Luke 1:78 Amplified Bible

Sun: a sign and symbol of the Son,
Flaming Son of God,
Savior of mankind as the sun is savior of earth.
Magnet of power He is, drawing all to God's supremacy.
Light of all lights He is, shining into shadows
that curse the world, ever killing death with life.

In a strange leap by revelation, the Psalmist saw
the sun as Son but also Bridegroom.

The Son is a Bridegroom.
Ultimately and Then, He is Husband
to the bride of His love.
And from heaven's union tent,
sent from her worship and robed in her love,
He goes forth as champion - "strong man" -
to outblaze darkness,
and run his electrifying race against
the enemy's pitch-dark!

As Divine-Husband joined to humanity-wife,
He shines - with "her, the Church" -
into the spiritual gloom and disorder
of earth and vanquishes
the oppression of illegitimate darkness.

"and His face was like the sun shining        
      in full power at midday . . ."
Rev. 1:16 Amplified Bible

John at Patmos saw Jesus in His shining . . . as He is . . . NOW!
Matchless Son, whose brightness is beyond
the power and glare of the sun.
On That-Day, all will see Him as
an ignited fire, intolerable - burning the whole earth.

He will be seen as more blazing than the sun that merely hints at Him.
He will appear as the hidden Source of life,
unworshiped, unknown yet faithfully rising, as the sun.
The bright inferno of His flaming eyes
will find every shrouded corner of every evil thing
and the earth will melt before HIM!

Glory beyond belief! Light unendurable!
The Mighty Son of God!

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief,     
in which the heavens will pass away with a roar
and the elements will be destroyed
with intense heat and the earth and
its works will be burned up.
Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way,
what sort of people ought you to be
in holy conduct and godliness,
looking for and hastening
 the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be
destroyed by burning and
         the elements will melt with intense heat!
