The heavens are telling of the glory of God
Psalm 19:1 

David pondered the wonders of the heavens
and saw the lights as symbols of God Light.
And he moved to ponder the greater Light,
the commandments of God, the Greatest Light he knew.

From his musings on the heavens he turned
to praise the scriptures as filled with light
in which his soul basked as in the sun.

The light of the sun for the earth.
For healing, for purification, for life.
The light of the scriptures for mankind.
For healing, for purification, for life.

The law of the Lord is perfect,    
restoring the soul,
The testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart.
verses 7-8

Light to the soul of humanity is given by the Holy Spirit
as He unveils the glowing power in God's precious writings.

The heavens filled David with wonder, but
the scriptures filled his soul with God.

The commands of the Lord are radiant,         
     giving light to the eyes.
verse 8

David grasped more than most, that the
Light of the word was the Living Word.
A living God rose from David's musings.
Not a knowledge of truths but a
Vital God glowing into David's reading,
shining on his thoughts, until
the words became bright with wonder
and transparent in meaning.

And his response always was . . . worship!

The word of God is Light.
The eloquence of God is Jesus.
The beginning Word, the final Word,
the constant pouring of the mind of God
through the presence of His son.

The Son is the voice of God, the capturing of
uncontainable Majesty, exposing Him
to His creation within the press of words,
the Spirit beaming upon the commands
to expand their unspeakable wonder.

The Light of God in the words of God, conveys
the Life of God to the gazer.
More than knowledge, more than understanding
poured onto the listener: a life-infusing
power of energy, purity and clarity.

One who reads will not find light.
One who reads listening will be illumined
in the light of the Author,
and the ordinary words imbued with Light,
the very radiance of God.

So we have the prophetic word made more sure,      
to which you do well to pay attention as to a
lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns
       and the morning star arises in your hearts.

Oh, our God of the Heavens,
come and beam on our pondering of
Your message!
