“The call of the world is to 'rise up in strength,' yet the call of the Lord is to 'fear to enter HIS rest.'” — Martha Kilpatrick (Christ in You, Your Hope of Glory CD series)

Heaven’s Rule: The Light of the World Has Come!
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

The giant universe reveals God and points to His Son . . . for Whose delight it was fashioned and in Whose holy hand it is held. The heavens preside. Heaven rules the day, the night, the hour, the year . . . the crops, the tides. And we live ever under the lines drawn by the heavens above us. For us. If not to God, at least to the "lights," we submit. In the Heavens, the Father utterly rules, issuing life-in-light, down to us.

What David saw symbolized in the heavens,
and glimpsed in scripture:
a Light only in hint and occasional glimpsing,
came blazing to earth,
contained in the form of a Person.

At John the Baptist's birth, Zacharias prophesied

. . . the Sunrise from on high will visit us,
'To shine upon those who sit in darkness
and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.

Luke 1:78, 79 NAS

The True Brilliant Sun came to visit and
shine on His own creation, to cast the fire of
His pure and flaming life onto cold humanity!

John began his story of Jesus with the Word.

In the beginning was the Word
       and the Word was God.

John 1:1

And he moved to describe an indescribable Jesus
by the term, "Light."

In Him was life, and the life was
the Light of men.

The Light shines in the darkness . . . .

There was the true Light which,
coming into the world,
  enlightens every man.
John 1:4, 5, 9 NAS

Tell me that God came to live as a man and I
can confine him. I know humanity.
But tell me this One is Light and I am cast
into the realm of enigma, for Light as Life
is an utter mystery, even as light also is.
How do you understand Light as God?
How do you explain Light walking as a man?

This Sun is Himself as mysterious as light.
In being Light, He gives life. How?

And the Light shone, moving in splendor on
common roads with dusty humanity.

The Light met a difficult situation:
a woman caught in adultery and men whose
hidden lust, lusted to stone her.

Before her accusers, to the sinner,
Jesus said ". . . go and sin no more.'

And to all this same crowd standing at the scene of
divine compassion over human judgmentalism,
Jesus said a strange and wonderful thing:

Then Jesus again spoke to them,
"I am the Light of the world.
He who follows Me will not walk
in the darkness but will have
      the Light of life."

John 8:12 NAS

He is Light for the world!
The entire world of human darkness.
He is Light for the sinner's dark bondage.
He is Light for the unrepentant's blind pride.

All in that human tragedy saw and felt
and beheld . . . the Light.
And each one was internally X-rayed
by the penetration of Pure Light.

The Light of God's mercy shining on all,
in and through Christ Jesus!
The offer made to both sinner and accuser:
"Follow me and you will have Light in
your kind of darkness."
